Public transport:
Iron Mill College is just a 10 minute walk from Exeter Central Railway Station and a 5 minute walk from the main Exeter Bus Station.
Car parking:
Unfortunately there is no car parking available at Iron Mill College on weekdays, as the car park on Barnfield Crescent is reserved for staff of the college and neighbouring businesses.
On weekends, the Barnfield Crescent car park is operated as a charity car park, costing £8 for all-day parking. It does fill up quickly, however, so we’d recommend arriving early if attending courses on the weekend.
There are also a number of pay and display car parks in Exeter a short distance away from the college – the nearest being the Dean Clarke House Car Park, Princesshay 3 Car Park and the Magdalen Road Car Park.
Cycling:
Bike racks are available next to the Morwenstow courtyard, within the college. There is a doorbell on the gate at the left of the front of Morwenstow that can be used to gain the attention of the Administration Office if you require access to the bike racks.
Facilities:
Our Exeter venue offers a range of facilities for students in two adjacent buildings - 'Morwenstow' and 'The Quadrangle'. Morwenstow is a beautiful and historic building at the end of Barnfield Crescent and is where our college Administration Office is based. The Quadrangle is a more recently acquired, fully renovated additional building at the rear of Morwenstow, offering fantastic extra spaces and facilities.
Across the two buildings there are three kitchens in total with free tea and coffee-making facilities, fridges and microwaves in each. One of the Morwenstow kitchens also has an oven, hob and dishwasher. We also have a dedicated lunch room, 'The Hub', located in The Quadrangle.
Students also have use of our library with computer access and enjoy free WIFI throughout both buildings. Each building has a courtyard garden and, in Morwenstow only, there is an outdoor smoking area (please note – smoking is not permitted at the front of the buildings). There is also access to communal green space outside, with picnic tables and benches.
Unfortunately, we do not currently offer childcare facilities.
Disabled access:
Morwenstow's ground floor has ramp access via the side entrance – there is a doorbell on the gate at the left of the front of the building that can be used to gain the attention of the Administration Office if you require access. Unfortunately, the upper floors are only accessible via the staircase. We do have toilet facilities on the ground floor with hand rails installed, but please note that access is not suitable for wheelchair users.
The Quadrangle is an accessible, single storey building with ramp access at the main entrance and at one of the rear exits.
We do endeavour to accommodate people who are disabled or have mobility or other issues, so please do get in touch with us on 01392 219200 or enquiries@ironmill.co.uk if you would like to discuss any access issues with us or arrange to come and view our facilities.
Room rentals:
We are delighted to offer room rentals for wellbeing serivces and activities in our additional building in Exeter, The Quadrangle. For full information, please see our Room Rentals page.
Office hours:
Office hours at our Exeter venue, where our College Administration Team is based, are 9.00am – 5.30pm, Monday to Saturday.
Some courses may run outside of these hours and the college is accessible to students of those courses only during those times (e.g. on Sundays). To contact us during office hours, call 01392 219200 or email enquiries@ironmill.co.uk at any time. Students can also contact us by email at studentservices@ironmill.co.uk.
Please note we are closed during bank holidays and for a period over Christmas – please see notifications on the home page during this time for details of the college closure period. During August, the college is also usually closed on Saturdays.
