Before joining Iron Mill College, Amanda worked for 10 years as a primary school and Reading Recovery teacher. She has previously worked as a housing manager, tenant advice worker and university administrator in London, East Anglia and Devon. Amanda has a BA (Hons) in Philosophy from Sheffield University, a Post Graduate Diploma in Housing Administration from Sheffield Hallam University, an Advanced Diploma in Local History from Oxford University and a PGCE from Plymouth University.
Job title: Student Services and IT Officer.
Areas of responsibility: Support for students from sign up to graduation and maintenance and development of IT systems and applications.
Profile: David has been with the Iron Mill College team since February 2009 and is currently responsible for all aspects of college provision for enrolled students across all courses. David’s role also involves the development and coordination of IT services in line with college strategy. This includes providing IT training and support as necessary to students and staff.
Before joining the Iron Mill College team, David worked for a large multi-national company where he was responsible for the company’s voice communication infrastructure. He is currently studying with the Open University for a Degree (BSc) in ICT and Design.
Job title: Student Placement Coordinator and Iron Mill Counselling Service Coordinator.
Areas of responsibility: Coordinating student counselling placements, both internally and externally, and managing the Iron Mill Counselling Service.
Profile: Marie has been part of the College Administration Team since November 2015, having also had a successful student career at Iron Mill College. Marie is responsible for the day to day running of the Iron Mill Counselling Service, a role that includes the assessment of clients and management of all in-house counsellors. Marie also oversees the applications and maintenance of all student counselling placements, a role that involves building strong working links with external providers and ensuring students are supported throughout their time in placement.
Marie has previously worked as a Nursery Manager, Foster Carer and support worker, accumulating over 20 years’ experience of working with children and adolescents. Marie has a BA (Hons) Degree in Integrative Counselling and is in private practice in Exeter and Dorset, in addition to her work at the college.
