Role(s): Course lead and lecturer on the Foundation Degree (FdA) in Integrative Counselling and lecturer on the Advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling and the Certificate in Counselling.

Profile:
Lucia trained at the Karuna Institute in Core Process Psychotherapy and alongside her role with Iron Mill College, works in private practice near Totnes. Currently, she is the Course Lead for, and teaches on, the Foundation Degree (FdA) in Integrative Counselling, which is validated by University of Worcester. Lucia also teaches on the Advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling, accredited by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

Lucia's past areas of work include helping those dealing with issues of substance misuse and domestic violence. Her qualifications include a BA (Hons) Degree in Psychology and Religious Studies.


Jan Cavill - Programmes Lead and LecturerJan Cavill

Qualifications: PG Cert HE, MBACP (Accred.), UKRCP (Reg.), Adv. Dip. Couns., Adv. Dip. Supervision EAS (Accred.), Post Qualifying Diploma Counselling Children & Adolescents, Adv. Dip. in Applications of Integrative & Relational Approaches to Transactional Analytic Counselling & Psychotherapy.

Role(s)
Overall responsibility in maintaining and enhancing standards in the delivery of existing programmes at Iron Mill College and the development of new initiatives. She is also the Course Lead for the Advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling.

Profile: Jan works closely with module leaders and the faculty team who are responsible for delivering programmes. She has been involved at Iron Mill College for many years, including as a lecturer. Jan works closely on admissions, curriculum development as well as providing a comprehensive approach to the continuous improvement of programmes. She is very much involved in the care and progression of teaching development. 

Jan enjoys being engaged in such a creative learning community, within a college with a reputation for innovative teaching that gives a high priority to enhancing the quality of each student's learning experience. She finds the development of new and established professional programmes a very rewarding part of her practice, along with her interaction with both lecturers and students - as this is where she see the results of the team's hard work. Jan's passion for her work has never changed and she still loves learning. She takes great pleasure in seeing students' progress and grow in confidence with their personal and professional development. 


Briony Nicholls - Course Lead and LecturerBriony Nicholls

Qualifications: BA, MA (Oxon), DPhil, Diploma TA Psychotherapy, CTA(P), PTSTA(P), UKCP Reg.

Role(s): Course lead and lecturer on the TA Psychotherapy Foundation Course and the TA Psychotherapy Advanced Course.

Profile: Briony is a psychotherapist and supervisor in private practice in addition to her role as a TA trainer. She has a specialist interest in psychiatric disorders and their treatment, in neuroscience, and in psychological approaches to sports performance.

Briony's qualifications include a Diploma in TA Psychotherapy and a Doctorate in Psychology. She is a Certified Transactional Analyst (Psychotherapy) and a Provisional Training and Supervising Transactional Analyst with a psychotherapy speciality. Briony is also registered with the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and is a member of the UK Association for Transactional Analysis (UKATA).


Jane Stavert - LecturerJane Stavert

Role(s): Course lead and lecturer on the Postgraduate Certificate in Supervision, lecturer on the Certificate in Counselling and group supervisor for the Iron Mill Counselling Service

Profile: Jane initially trained as a teacher, but soon moved into supporting families via social services and national charities such as Women’s Aid and Rape Crisis. For the last 20 years Jane has worked as a counsellor, trainer, supervisor and manager in higher education, initially in London, and for 11 years at the University of Exeter.

Jane's initial counselling training was in Person Centred and Existential approaches but she has also undergone training in other models, including to masters level in Analytic Psychotherapy. She has an integrative approach that takes into account how early experiences continue to shape us, that there are some life questions we all have to negotiate and that it its essential to appreciate the importance of the individual’s social and cultural context. 

In addition to her role at Iron Mill College, Jane works part-time at the University of Exeter and has a private practice as a supervisor and counsellor. She is particularly interested in the growing concern to offer all those working in the helping professions appropriate and supportive supervision and excited to be part of the supervision course at Iron Mill College.


Dr Julie WaumsleyJulie Waumsley - Course Lead and Lecturer

Qualifications: BSc (Hons)(1), DPsych, PGCHE, FHEA, AFBPs, CPsychol, Diploma in Integrative Counselling, Reg MBACP (Accred), Chartered Member BPS, Registered Member HCPC.

Role(s)Course lead and lecturer on the BA (Hons) Degree in Integrative Counselling and lecturer on the Advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling and Post Qualifying Diploma in Eating Disorders: Brain, Body and Mind.


Profile: Julie is a BACP accredited counsellor and a Chartered Sport and Exercise Psychologist and has run her own private practice, working with many clients and supporting them to a more optimal way of living through their own discovery of self. She has worked with the BPS and government on obesity issues and consulted with athletes on the psychological aspects of injury and performance. 

Julie has published research articles on work-life balance and bullying and also holds a specialist interest in working with those who struggle with their relationship toward food. She is vastly experienced in the writing and teaching of counselling and psychology training programs from diploma through to MSc levels. Julie prides herself in striving to behave in a way that is congruent with her integrity. Her qualifications include a Diploma in Integrative Counselling, a Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education and a Doctor of Philosophy in Social Psychology.
