Creativity and Enjoyment
We believe that everyone has special gifts and that part of the process of being a counsellor is to enable our clients to discover their own. To this end we also do the same in the training, helping people to discover their strengths and hidden talents and celebrate diversity in unity. There are ample opportunities for exploring different approaches, styles, ideas and methods.
The ultimate end goal is to turn out integrated individuals with a clear integrated perspective on what they are doing and why. This means a clarity and consistency without dogma and a willingness to continue to learn from our clients and patients and colleagues.
Ethics
We also believe that this profession is a privilege and a responsibility. Our main concern is the safety of the client and to this end we do require students to take regular supervision, to take their own needs seriously and to use tutorial support to enable them to reach standards of best practice.
Enjoyment
This course of training is meant to be enjoyable and feedback over the years has certainly proved this to be the case. There has been a lot of laughter and humour, and former trainees have found that their course has been an oasis for them and a place to network and grow. Our aim to is to promote success in all those who come here and to enable people to develop their talents and professional practice.
