Iron Mill College (IMC) is a specialist independent College, with over 40 years’ experience in the provision of high-quality, professional initial and post-qualification programmes and courses in psychotherapy, counselling, mental health, and wellbeing, as well as bespoke training for organisations and businesses.

IMC has a long-standing, excellent reputation in being community and sector rooted from our relationships with local and regional practice providers, IMC low-cost professional counselling service, and distinctive approach to student and staff experience.

We currently have a range of exciting teaching posts in Integrative Counselling, designed for tutors to combine with private or employed practice to expand their experience and be part of educating the next generation of counsellors.

You will be joining a vibrant team, supported through teaching development and counselling practice enhancement, as well as the opportunity to additionally contribute to College and student experience to advance your interests.

Iron Mill College's Teaching Team

Iron Mill College prides itself on offering excellent standards of creative and inspiring teaching to our students. 

The college employs highly experienced and suitably qualified practitioners in counselling, psychotherapy and related professions within our teaching team of specialist subject staff and bank staff at Foundation Degree, BA and MA levels. We also employ supportive, professional and empathic admin team staff members that help with the running of the college, supporting students and answering enquiries. 

Members of Iron Mill College's teaching team:

  • are either BACP/NCPS accredited (or actively in the process of applying for accreditation), UKCP registered, or members of a suitable professional body relevant to their field.
  • have an undergraduate or postgraduate qualification (BA / BSc or MA / MSc) or equivalent professional qualification.
  • have extensive relevant experience as a counsellor, psychotherapist or other relevant, related profession.
  • have experience of teaching, delivering CPD, and / or facilitating groups.
  • adopt a humanistic and relational approach.
  • have good organisational abilities.
  • are passionate about their profession and are able to inspire others.
  • have experience of online teaching delivery.
