This sparked an interest in supporting students with some of the wider life issues they faced and led to training in pregnancy crisis and post TOP, miscarriage and neonatal death care.
Annie got together a team and set up a Centre to offer a free support service. After training at the Iron Mill, Annie set up and ran a counselling centre, with a team of other trained counsellors in the area, providing professional counselling at affordable prices to the local community. The Centre still flourishes but Annie has now passed over leadership to become involved in lecturing at the Iron Mill.
Annie is passionate about equipping the next generation of counsellors through good teaching and sharing of skills and understanding. She has a lot of experience with clients working through a wide variety of life issues. Annie believes in the power of the therapeutic relationship and works from a basis of respect for client autonomy and potential. She likes to work integratively, matching her approach closely to the needs of the client. She is interested in the relationship between faith, spirituality and mental wellbeing.
